Creature Camp / Barnside
Located in beautiful Brooklin, Maine, Creature Camp/Barnside offers professional services tailored to meet the needs of your pet. The Camp is located 3 miles north of "downtown" Brooklin and is on 2 acres of property. The Camp includes a 2 story, 3 bedroom farmhouse, and an attached finished barn, which opens into 3 fenced areas. All Campers have access to all areas of the farmhouse with the exception of two 2nd floor bedrooms. http://www.creaturequarters.com These guest rooms are rented out separately as pet friendly rooms on a nightly, weekly, or monthly basis.
Creature Camp provides a safe home away from home for your dog with no kennels or cages; your dog lives and plays in a sheltered, safe and fun home environment. All dogs reside with other socialized dogs in small playgroups, and receive supervision and care; and love from the experienced staff.
Home away from home for your beloved dog
Camp is a great place for high-energy dogs who love to play, and their play area is surrounded by a 6' fence. Older dogs can receive as much or as little exercise as is appropriate for them, and there is always a cozy quiet place for them to rest when needed.
The dogs are not kenneled or caged in any way, (unless crating is needed at night, or during doggie nap time for younger pups), and the dogs live with Ms. Cutler, and the other Campers as if it was their own home.
Although meal-time is not much of a lingering social event at Camp Creature, all dogs are fed in the morning and late afternoon, and are separated so that they may enjoy their own meal. "Picky" or slow eaters are provided special alone opportunities thru-out the day as needed.
Additional Information
Field trips to the beach, or Blue Hill mountain are provided to Campers with owner's permission, and as appropriate by season.
Health Notes and Documentation: All creature keepers must show proof of up-to-date vaccinations for their pet, as well as a rabies certificate prior to their first visit to Camp. These records can be emailed or faxed to the Camp. Dogs should be ready for their pre-arranged Camp visit wearing a strong, well fitting collar appropriate for the dog's size and weight, and must also show proof that they are licensed in their own Town of residence. Bordetella vaccine is also required, and all dogs should be on a monthly dose of Interceptor or Heartgard (8 months on and 4 winter months off) All dogs should also be treated topically for the prevention of fleas and ticks. (Also, 8 months on, 4 months off) This treatment can be in the form of a Frontline-type product, or a more natural product may be applied to your pet in the form of a powder or spray. If any medications are to be provided to a Camper during his Camp stay this is done at no extra charge, but written instructions, and owner's permission should accompany the pet, and his medications at time of arrival at Camp.
